Ishaq Dar vows befitting reply to India’s misadventure

FM Dar briefs his Saudi counterpart on the decisions taken by Pakistan’s National Security Committee

In a crucial diplomatic development, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar spoke with Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, to share key updates on Pakistan’s stance in response to India’s recent unilateral actions.

The high-level phone call came as tensions continue to mount across the region, particularly after a string of provocative moves by New Delhi.

According to the Foreign Office, both leaders expressed satisfaction over the strong and evolving bilateral relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. They also exchanged views on the rapidly changing regional landscape, with particular focus on security and political developments.

During the call, Ishaq Dar briefed his Saudi counterpart on the decisions taken by Pakistan’s National Security Committee (NSC), which convened in light of India’s aggressive posturing. Dar reiterated Pakistan’s firm rejection of India’s baseless allegations and warned that any hostile move would be met with a “robust and effective response”.

He emphasised that such one-sided actions by India could seriously undermine regional peace and push the situation toward further instability. The two foreign ministers also agreed to stay in close contact and maintain regular consultations on unfolding developments.

This diplomatic outreach follows a series of statements from Islamabad accusing India of violating international norms and attempting to escalate tensions through political and military provocations. Pakistan has repeatedly urged the international community, including key allies like Saudi Arabia, to take note of India’s reckless behaviour.

With growing speculation around false flag operations and the breakdown of bilateral agreements like the Indus Waters Treaty, Islamabad is taking a firm stance on protecting national interests while engaging global partners diplomatically.
