Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar has revealed that Pakistan has shot down Indian warplanes worth over $1 billion in response to recent provocations by New Delhi.
Speaking to the media outside the National Assembly, Ishaq Dar said that Pakistan had earlier offered a neutral and transparent international investigation into the recent tensions. “We did our part. If we weren’t innocent, we wouldn’t have made such an offer,” he emphasized.
Addressing the rising tensions, Dar said that de-escalation is always a two-way process. “Just like Pulwama, India has tried to generate hype based on falsehoods. It seems their leadership felt compelled to act after fueling the media frenzy,” he added.
“But the question is: at what cost?” Dar asked. “We shot down their fighter jets worth $1 billion. That is the price they paid.”
He confirmed that Pakistan’s Armed Forces have responded in kind. “As I said earlier, we would reply proportionately. When India crossed the line and attacked inside Pakistan, our brave forces brought down five of their fighter jets and two drones,” he said.
The situation remains tense between the two nuclear-armed neighbors, with Pakistan reiterating its call for peace but also vowing a strong response to any aggression.
