The National Emergencies Operation Centre (NEOC) and NDMA have issued a weather alert, warning of intense rainfall, hailstorms, and gusty winds expected on April 18 and 19 in various parts of Punjab, including Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
According to the NDMA spokesperson, districts such as Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, and Gujrat are likely to experience strong winds and hailstorms. Central Punjab regions like Faisalabad, Jhang, Khushab, Mianwali, Hafizabad, Lahore, Narowal, Sahiwal, Sargodha, and Sheikhupura may also face severe weather conditions.
The alert warns of power outages, fallen trees, and possible accidents due to strong winds and heavy rain. Farmers have been advised to take precautionary steps to protect their crops from potential damage.
Authorities are urging the public to avoid unnecessary travel, stay away from weakened structures and trees, and stay updated by using the NDMA Disaster Alert mobile app.
