Aik News: A recent PTI rally in Muzaffarabad faced criticism after a lower-than-expected turnout raised questions about the party’s strength outside Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) organized a public gathering in Muzaffarabad, aiming to showcase its political influence beyond Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. However, the event did not meet expectations on the ground.
Ahead of the arrival of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sardar Ali Amin Gandapur, organizers created a strong political atmosphere with banners, media coverage, and arrangements for over 1,100 chairs. Despite these efforts, attendance remained noticeably low.
Reports suggest that many seats remained empty, and the overall crowd size was significantly smaller than anticipated. Images and videos from the event, showing empty chairs during the speech, quickly circulated on social media, sparking debate.
Political analysts say the issue goes beyond low attendance. They view the rally as a sign of PTI’s organizational weaknesses and limited public outreach in Azad Kashmir. For a party known for drawing large crowds in the past, the turnout is being seen as a warning sign.
Observers argue that public support cannot be demonstrated through claims alone but must be visible on the ground. They suggest PTI should treat this situation as an opportunity to reassess its strategy and strengthen connections with workers and voters.
The rally, intended to highlight PTI’s expanding political reach, instead underscored the need for stronger grassroots organization and engagement in the region.
