Pakistan Warns Taliban Over Terrorist Safe Havens

Aik News:Pakistan has expressed serious concerns about terrorist groups operating from Afghan territory and has urged the Afghan Taliban government to take a clear stance. Officials say Afghanistan must choose between maintaining good relations with Pakistan or allowing militant organizations to use its land for attacks.

Pakistan has raised objections to the recent report by the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA). According to Pakistani officials, much of the information in the report appears to rely mainly on the position presented by Afghan Taliban authorities, which raises questions about the balance and accuracy of its conclusions.

Officials also said that the report did not give enough importance to information verified by independent and reliable sources.

According to Pakistan’s position, the Afghan Taliban government maintains close links with several militant groups. Islamabad claims that Afghan territory is being used to plan and launch terrorist attacks against Pakistan. These attacks have caused the deaths of many innocent civilians and security personnel in recent years.

Pakistan says it has made several diplomatic efforts to resolve the issue, including attempts through mediation by friendly countries, but there has been little positive progress so far.

The government has delivered a clear message that the Afghan Taliban must decide whether they want to prioritize relations with Pakistan or continue to allow terrorist groups to operate from Afghan soil.

Officials also emphasized that Pakistan’s armed forces conduct counter-terrorism operations with precision, professionalism, and responsibility. They said such operations are based on credible and verified intelligence.

According to the statement, security forces prioritize the protection of civilians during operations and take extraordinary precautions to avoid casualties. Targets are usually located in remote areas far from populated regions.

Pakistan also expressed concern that terrorist elements are being given shelter and protection in Afghanistan, allowing them to establish safe havens and continue activities that threaten regional peace and Pakistan’s national security.

Meanwhile, Pakistan also highlighted a recent deadly terrorist attack in Miranshah that caused serious harm to innocent civilians, including children. The country hopes that the United Nations mission will report such incidents with the same seriousness and neutrality.

Pakistan reiterated its commitment to working with the United Nations and international partners to take effective and responsible steps against terrorism and to promote peace and stability in the region.
