Aik News:Medical board reports clear improvement in Imran Khan’s eye condition after latest examination.
A detailed medical examination of Imran Khan, 73, was completed on February 15, 2026, by a special medical board.
The board included Professor Dr. Nadeem Qureshi from Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital and Professor Dr. Muhammad Arif Khan from PIMS.
According to the official report, there is significant improvement in his eye condition. His central macular thickness has reduced from 550 to 350, which doctors described as a major improvement.
The vision in his affected right eye improved from 6/36 to 6/9, which doctors said is satisfactory at this stage.
Current Vision Details
Without glasses:
- Right eye: 6/24
- Left eye: 6/9
With glasses:
- Right eye: 6/9
- Left eye: 6/6
The report includes full details of his current eye condition. The medical board has also recommended further treatment and medicines.
Prescribed Treatment
- Nevanac eye drops: Twice daily in both eyes
- Co-Sopt eye drops: Twice daily in the right eye only
- Systane Ultra eye drops: Three times daily in both eyes
Doctors have advised giving the second dose of the Anti-VEGF injection as scheduled.
For further examination, OCT angiography has been recommended. After completing the Anti-VEGF treatment, an FFA test will also be carried out.
After the medical board visited Adiala Jail, Barrister Gohar Khan and Allama Raja Nasir Abbas went to PIMS and received a detailed briefing from specialists. Imran Khan’s personal doctors, Dr. Asim Yousaf and Dr. Khurram Mirza, were also briefed by phone.
Party leaders and his personal doctors expressed full satisfaction and confidence in the ongoing treatment and follow-up plan.
The medical report has been officially issued with the signatures of both doctors.
