Taxila Tree Plantation Drive to Restore Margalla Forest

Aik News:A large tree plantation campaign was held in Taxila under the Punjab government’s vision to restore the Margalla forest and promote a greener Pakistan. Students and young people participated enthusiastically in the event.

A major tree plantation drive was organized in Taxila to help restore the Margalla forest and support environmental protection efforts in Pakistan. The campaign is part of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s vision for a greener and environmentally safe province.

The event saw active participation from school and college students, children, and a large number of young volunteers. Participants were informed about the importance of planting trees and encouraged to treat tree plantation as a national responsibility.

Senior Punjab Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb is playing a key role in implementing this green initiative. Speaking at the event, Chief Conservator of Forests Punjab, Iftikhar-ul-Hassan Farooqi, said the Punjab government is taking strong steps to promote a greener Pakistan, especially by involving the youth in environmental activities. He also shared that a special plantation campaign has been arranged for women to ensure participation from all sections of society.

Member of National Assembly Asiya Tanoli said the campaign is not just a project but a comprehensive vision to transform Pakistan’s environmental future. She emphasized that if every young person plants even one tree, it can significantly improve the country’s environmental outlook. She added that more than 200,000 trees are planned to be planted in Taxila to combat climate change.

Member of Provincial Assembly Mohsin Ayub Khan said the Chief Minister and Senior Minister have always fully supported forest restoration efforts, while the Forest Department has taken all possible steps to ensure the campaign’s success.

The ceremony concluded with participants planting saplings and pledging to continue playing their role in making Pakistan greener and more environmentally friendly.
