Taking the lives of innocent people and shedding blood is never permitted:  Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani

08 February 2026

The leaders of Wafaq-ul-Madaris Al-Arabia Pakistan, President of the Wafaq, Maulana Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani, Senior Vice President Maulana Anwar-ul-Haq, Secretary General of Wafaq-ul-Madaris Maulana Muhammad Hanif Jalandhari, and others strongly condemned the suicide attack that took place at an Imambargah in Islamabad, calling it tragic and reprehensible.

They stated that taking the lives of innocent people and shedding blood is absolutely forbidden. Those who carry out such attacks in mosques, imambargahs, and madrasas do not even deserve to be called human beings. Such bloodshed is tantamount to pushing Pakistan toward instability.

The leaders of Wafaq-ul-Madaris demanded that the network of elements involved in this brutal and barbaric act be traced and made an example of, and that foolproof security be provided to all mosques, imambargahs, and madrasas across the country.

Pakistan’s scholars and spiritual leaders thwarted an India-backed conspiracy aimed at spreading sectarianism. After the Tarlai incident, the National Message of Peace Committee delivered a clear message of unity of the Ummah and national solidarity.

Under the leadership of Hafiz Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi, representatives of all schools of thought paid a joint visit, attended to the injured, offered prayers, and expressed condolences. Respect, harmony, and unity in the face of hatred is the unanimous stance of madrasa boards and religious leadership.

The scholars and spiritual leaders said that the joint struggle against terrorism and extremism will continue, and that they stand shoulder to shoulder with the Pakistan Armed Forces and security institutions. They added that the purpose of the Tarlai incident was to spread hatred and violence, but the religious leadership buried this narrative through timely unity. Anti-Pakistan forces seek sectarian division.

The National Message of Peace Committee exposed the conspiracy and declared that there will be no compromise on Pakistan’s security and stability. They reaffirmed that peace, tolerance, and inter-sect harmony in the country will not be allowed to be harmed.

An agreement was reached on a united strategy against terrorism, and it was resolved that such activities promoting unity and solidarity will continue on a permanent basis.
