Former Pakistan international cricketer Imad Wasim has announced his separation from his wife, stating that the decision was made after careful and prolonged consideration.

In a message shared on social media, the all-rounder explained that despite sincere efforts from both sides, differences that had developed over the past few years could not be resolved, leading them to mutually part ways.

He urged the public and media to respect the privacy of his family during this difficult time and requested that old photographs not be shared or circulated.

Imad Wasim also cautioned that he would take legal action against anyone spreading negativity or making malicious remarks about his personal life.

Emphasising his responsibilities as a father, he reaffirmed his commitment to the care, upbringing, and well-being of his children.

Imad Wasim married London-based Sannia Ashfaq in August 2019.

Earlier this month, on December 13, 2024, Imad Wasim also announced his retirement from international cricket. Sharing the news on X (formerly Twitter), he said the decision came after deep reflection.

“Representing Pakistan on the world stage has been the greatest honour of my life. Every moment in the green jersey will always remain close to my heart,” he wrote, thanking fans for their unwavering support throughout his career.

While closing the chapter on international cricket, Imad expressed his excitement about continuing to play in domestic and franchise leagues, saying he hopes to keep entertaining fans and contributing to the game in new ways.
