UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed concludes first official visit to Pakistan

The first official visit of United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to Pakistan concluded on Friday, marking a significant moment in the growing partnership between the two brotherly nations.

The one-day visit underscored mutual trust, shared priorities, and a renewed commitment to deeper cooperation across multiple sectors.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif warmly welcomed the UAE president in Islamabad and later shared his satisfaction over the visit in a message on X (formerly Twitter). He described the meeting as a reflection of the deep-rooted and fraternal ties between the two countries. The prime minister said it was a pleasure to host President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan at a time when both nations were stepping into the New Year together, adding warmth and positivity to the occasion.

According to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the two leaders held highly cordial and constructive talks, reviewing the full spectrum of Pakistan UAE bilateral relations, including economic cooperation, regional peace, and long-term development goals. He emphasized that Pakistan takes pride in its longstanding and sincere relationship with the UAE, noting that these ties continue to grow stronger under the leadership of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

During the high-level meeting, both sides agreed on shared goals of peace, stability, and sustainable development. The talks were attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, as well as Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir, highlighting the importance Pakistan attached to the visit.

The leadership from both countries reviewed ongoing bilateral cooperation projects and agreed to further strengthen collaboration in key areas such as investment, energy, infrastructure, and information technology. They also expressed a strong desire to increase the volume of bilateral trade and unlock new economic opportunities that benefit both nations.

A major outcome of the visit was the decision to expand partnerships in technology and enhance people-to-people contacts, recognizing their role in bringing societies closer. The leaders also exchanged views on regional and global developments and reaffirmed their commitment to staying in close contact on matters of mutual interest.
