Court rejects Ducky Bhai’s request for YouTube account custody

A court in Lahore has delivered a key ruling in the ongoing case concerning popular YouTuber Saad Rahman, widely known as Ducky Bhai.

The judgment pertains to the custody of his YouTube accounts and personal belongings, which were seized during a recent investigation.

During the hearing at the District Court, Ducky Bhai requested that his YouTube channel and mobile devices be returned to him. However, the court rejected his plea, while ordering the release of 19 personal items recovered during a comprehensive search. The items include banking cards, identification cards, a laptop bag, a GoPro camera, and other personal belongings.

The judicial magistrate, Naeem Wato, reserved his decision after hearing arguments from both parties and their legal representatives.

During proceedings, the prosecutor highlighted that Ducky Bhai had already uploaded eight videos on his channel, raising concerns about the potential deletion or alteration of content that may be critical to the case. The Assistant Director of NCCIA questioned how a YouTuber could upload videos when the accounts were part of the legal proceedings.

In response, Ducky Bhai clarified that he had submitted a sworn statement ensuring that none of the videos would be tampered with. He added that the videos were uploaded by his editor, a friend based in Hyderabad. The court further questioned NCCIA officials about account access, to which they explained that some account owners do not grant access to editors.

The court carefully considered all arguments before issuing its verdict, ensuring both parties’ concerns were addressed.
