Saudi Arabia has awarded its highest national honour to Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, marking a major moment in the long-standing defence partnership between the two brotherly nations.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Field Marshal Munir was conferred the King Abdulaziz Medal honour under a royal decree issued by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The award recognises exceptional service and leadership, as well as meaningful contributions to regional peace and security.
During his official visit to the kingdom, Field Marshal Munir met Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Defence, Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The ISPR said the discussions reaffirmed the “deep-rooted, historic, and brotherly relations” between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, highlighting a shared commitment to peace, stability, and mutual security interests.
