Representing WAPDA, Olympian Arshad Nadeem delivered a stellar performance at the ongoing 35th National Games at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi, clinching the gold medal in the men’s javelin event with an impressive throw of 81.81 metres.

His achievement was a testament not only to his personal dedication but also to the growing spirit of athletics in Pakistan.

WAPDA’s Yasir Sultan secured the silver with a throw of 70.77m, while Abrar Ali of Pakistan Army earned the bronze at 67.68m.

Arshad, widely regarded as Pakistan’s javelin superstar and an Olympic standout, has once again shown how elite athletes can inspire local talent and elevate the profile of sports in the country.

Ahead of the Games, Arshad had emphasized the importance of the event in providing a platform for emerging athletes.

Speaking during the opening ceremony, he expressed hope that strong performers at this edition could go on to represent Pakistan internationally, stating, “National Games will bring out new talent for Pakistan.

Performers will emerge from here and make Pakistan’s name shine on the international stage.”

Arshad also highlighted that top performers at the Games would be invited to national training camps, offering opportunities for international representation in the coming year.

Despite facing injury challenges earlier this year, he affirmed his readiness and determination, saying, “I performed well despite the injury this year. I am completely fit now, and I will target the record throw.”

Through his achievements and leadership, Arshad Nadeem continues to inspire a new generation of Pakistani athletes, demonstrating that resilience, hard work, and passion can open doors to global success while uplifting national pride.
