Pakistan denounces Jaishankar’s baseless accusations against armed forces

Islamabad has strongly rejected Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar’s “highly inflammatory, baseless, and irresponsible” remarks targeting the Pakistan Army, the Foreign Office said on Sunday.

Jaishankar, in an interview with NDTV, claimed that many of India’s problems with Pakistan “emanated from the Pakistan Army” and that the country’s ideological hostility towards India is fueled by its military.

Responding to these allegations, FO Spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andrabi emphasized Pakistan’s role as a responsible state, highlighting that all national institutions, including the armed forces, are committed to safeguarding the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

“The May 2025 conflict vividly demonstrated Pakistan military professionalism and resolve in defending the motherland and its citizens against any Indian aggression in a befitting, effective, yet responsible manner,” the spokesperson said. “No amount of propaganda can belittle this truth.”

Andrabi further accused Indian leadership of engaging in a propaganda campaign designed to defame Pakistan’s institutions while distracting attention from Delhi’s destabilizing actions in the region and state-sponsored terrorism in Pakistan.

He also urged India to address its internal issues, including the extremist Hindutva ideology that has led to mob justice, lynchings, arbitrary detentions, and destruction of properties and places of worship. “Indian state and leadership both have become hostages to this terror in the name of religion,” Andrabi remarked.
