The iconic on-screen pair, celebrated for their unforgettable chemistry in Aditya Chopra’s Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ), attended a heartfelt ceremony honoring legendary characters from Indian cinema.

To celebrate the film’s enduring legacy, a life-size bronze statue of Raj and Simran was unveiled at London’s Leicester Square on Thursday, December 4.

The surprise presence of SRK and Kajol instantly set social media abuzz, as fans across the world shared moments from the memorable event.

Standing beside their statues, the beloved duo marked 30 glorious years of the cult classic that continues to win hearts across generations.

Kajol looked radiant in a vibrant ocean-blue saree, while Shah Rukh Khan exuded elegance in a traditional black suit.

Reflecting on the film’s everlasting impact, Shah Rukh expressed deep gratitude to fans who have kept the spirit of DDLJ alive for three decades.

Quoting one of the film’s most famous lines, he shared, “Bade bade deshon mein, aisi chhoti chhoti baatein hoti rehti hain, Senorita!”

He further said he was thrilled that DDLJ became the first Indian film to be honored with a statue in the prestigious Scenes in the Square trail, thanking the people of the UK for their love and support.

Inviting fans to visit the statue, he added that he hopes it will create many more beautiful memories for admirers of the film.

For context, DDLJ, which first premiered in 1995, went on to earn Rs. 102.5 crore at the box office and became the highest-grossing Indian film of the year a true testament to its timeless appeal and emotional connection with audiences worldwide.
