Winter vacations 2025–26: Province-wise school holiday schedule released

The Ministry of Education has officially released the winter holidays schedule for schools across the country, bringing clarity for students, parents, and teachers as temperatures continue to drop.

The new plan outlines province-wise dates, ensuring that all regions receive an appropriate break suited to their weather conditions. With Pakistan school winter vacations now confirmed, families can begin planning their routines and travel ahead of time.

In Punjab, students will enjoy their winter break from December 23, 2025, to January 11, 2026. Schools are set to reopen on January 13, marking the beginning of the new academic session. The provincial government had earlier revised school timings to protect children from the intensifying cold, and this holiday schedule further supports that effort.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has divided its schedule based on geography. Schools in plain areas will remain closed from December 22 to December 31, while students in hilly regions will get a much longer break stretching from December 22 to February 29 due to harsh winter conditions and limited accessibility during snowfall.

In Balochistan, where winters are considerably harsher, especially in high-altitude districts, schools in cold regions will shut down from December 16 for approximately two and a half months. The notification applies to both government and private educational institutions.
