A local court in Lahore on Wednesday ordered the immediate release of YouTuber Saad-ur-Rehman, widely known as Ducky Bhai, after reviewing and verifying his bail documents.
Judicial Magistrate Naeem Wattoo issued the release warrant, directing authorities to free the YouTuber right away—provided he is not wanted in any other case.
Saad-ur-Rehman was arrested on August 17 at Lahore Airport in connection with a case filed by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA). The agency accused him of illegally promoting a gambling application through his social media platforms, prompting a formal criminal inquiry.
The release order follows an earlier decision by the Lahore High Court, which had already granted Ducky Bhai bail earlier this week. After the HHC’s decision, the district court completed the required formalities and issued the final warrant for his release.
Court officials confirmed that all bail bonds and documents were thoroughly checked before the order was issued.
What’s next for Ducky Bhai?
With the warrant now approved, Saad-ur-Rehman is expected to be released unless law enforcement identifies any other pending cases against him. While the court has cleared the way for his freedom, the NCCIA’s investigation into the gambling app allegations is still underway.
Just a day earlier, his release had been delayed because the district court couldn’t issue the order on time. According to his lawyer, Barrister Amrit Sheikh, the official working hours ended before the release process could be completed.
“We made every effort today, but the release order could not be finalized,” his lawyer said on Tuesday, attributing the delay to procedural requirements.
