Security forces, police, and the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) have carried out a series of large-scale operations across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), killing at least 30 terrorists, including several high-profile commanders. The coordinated actions were conducted in Bannu, Lakki Marwat, and Dera Ismail Khan, where multiple terror plots were foiled.

According to security officials, the militants eliminated included 13 Indian-sponsored terrorists identified during a fresh wave of intelligence-based operations. Authorities described these individuals as major threats to regional peace and stability, noting their involvement in violent activities across the province.

The operations are part of an intensified counterterrorism campaign aimed at dismantling foreign-backed networks and preventing cross-border influence in KP’s security landscape.

In Lakki Marwat, security forces gunned down 10 terrorists, several of whom were classified as high-value targets. Among those killed were Niaz Ali, Abdullah alias Shponkoi, and Commander Rasool alias Ariana—individuals linked to multiple attacks across the region. Officials confirmed the group had been planning further assaults before being intercepted.

Three militants were killed in a targeted operation in Dera Ismail Khan. Security sources described the action as “swift and precise,” adding that the militants were attempting to regroup in the area but were neutralized before they could reorganize.

Police and CTD intensify operations

Police and CTD teams carried out extensive operations across the Bannu region, killing 17 terrorists, including three key commanders. Several others were injured, and a large cache of weapons and ammunition was recovered from various hideouts.

In the Sherikhel area, 10 terrorists were killed while five others were injured. Forces also arrested a facilitator who was assisting the group.

CTD teams eliminated a most-wanted terrorist described by officials as a “critical operational threat.”

In Domail, six terrorists were killed during a targeted police action. The militants attempted to attack CTD personnel, but officers retaliated swiftly, killing all six and preventing a major assault.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General Zulfiqar Hameed lauded the efforts of the security forces, saying the renewed counterterrorism drive will continue without pause. “Terrorists will be chased to their secret hideouts,” the IG said, vowing that the campaign will continue “until the last terrorist is eliminated.”

In a separate incident, Bannu police successfully prevented a major terrorist attack on a bridge in Basiya Khel, a suburban locality of Bannu. Terrorists had planted an improvised explosive device (IED) weighing 8–10 kg inside a bucket attached to the bridge’s central pillar.
