Petrol price likley to decrease from November 15

Fuel prices in Pakistan are expected to see notable changes this weekend, with diesel, kerosene, and light diesel oil likely to become more expensive. Petrol, on the other hand, may experience a slight decrease, according to industry sources.

High-speed diesel is projected to increase by Rs9.60 per litre, reflecting ongoing trends in international markets. If approved, the revised price of diesel is expected to reach Rs288.40 per litre.

Petrol may see a modest reduction of Rs1.96 per litre, with the new price likely to settle at Rs263.49 per litre starting November 16, sources say.

Kerosene oil, commonly used in rural areas and low-income households, is also expected to rise by Rs8.82 per litre. Light diesel oil is projected to go up by Rs7.15 per litre, driven by shifts in global supply and pricing trends.

Price revision scheduled for Saturday

The government is set to revise fuel prices nationwide on Saturday, following the fortnightly review system. The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) will submit its recommended adjustments to the federal government, taking into account global market trends and currency fluctuations. After the Prime Minister’s approval, the Finance Ministry will officially announce the new prices, which will take effect immediately.

Current prices 

On November 1, the government had adjusted fuel prices for the fortnight. Petrol was increased by Rs1.35 per litre to Rs248.38, while high-speed diesel went up by Rs3.85 to Rs255.14 per litre. Meanwhile, kerosene oil and light diesel saw a small decrease, with kerosene fixed at Rs161.54 per litre.
