Former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi recently underwent a heart procedure after experiencing cardiac complications, according to hospital sources.
Doctors placed two stents to address blockages in his arteries, and his condition is now reported to be stable and satisfactory.
Sources inside the hospital confirmed that the former premier is under constant medical observation and responding well to treatment. According to Abbasi’s family, doctors have strongly advised him to take complete rest and avoid any strenuous activities until he fully recovers.
Close friend and party colleague Miftah Ismail also shared an encouraging update on social media platform X, formerly Twitter. “Alhamdolillah Shahid Khaqan Abbasi sahib's health condition continues to improve, and he is now resting comfortably,” Ismail wrote, adding, “We expect and pray for his quick and full recovery. I thank friends who have been calling to ask about his health.”

Shahid Khaqan Abbasi health has been a topic of concern among political circles and supporters, but reassuring reports from his family and friends suggest that he is on the road to recovery.
Abbasi, who served as Pakistan’s 18th prime minister from August 2017 to May 2018 following Nawaz Sharif’s ouster, has remained an active figure in national politics. In February 2023, he announced his departure from the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), where he had served as senior vice president. Later that year, he launched his own political party named Awaam Pakistan.
