Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has revealed that during the Pakistan India recent war, U.S. President Donald Trump played a crucial role in brokering a ceasefire that saved countless lives.
Speaking at the foundation-laying ceremony of a Danish School in Chitral, the Prime Minister lauded the people of Chitral for their patriotism, peaceful nature, and significant contribution to Pakistan’s progress. “The people of Chitral are noble, educated, and deeply loyal to the country. I’m delighted to be among them today,” he said, conveying good wishes from former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
Shehbaz Sharif announced that a modern Danish School will soon be established in Chitral, offering free quality education to children from underprivileged backgrounds, including orphans. The institution will feature smart classrooms, digital libraries, science labs, sports grounds, and boarding facilities, setting a new benchmark for educational excellence in the region.
Highlighting his government’s focus on equal development, the Prime Minister said that remote regions like Chitral, Gilgit-Baltistan, Balochistan, and Azad Kashmir are top priorities for improved access to education, healthcare, and infrastructure. He also confirmed that students from Chitral will now be eligible for the national laptop scheme, helping them embrace modern learning tools.
Unveiling several development initiatives for Chitral, Shehbaz Sharif announced that a gas plant will be installed in Upper Chitral, with directives to be issued immediately upon his return to Islamabad. He added that the 153-kilometer Chitral-Booni-Mastuj-Shandur Road would be completed by next December, while work on the Chitral-Ayun-Bumburet Road is expected to finish by May next year.
The Prime Minister also noted the completion of the 7-kilometer northern route of the Lowari Tunnel, promising further improvements for smoother connectivity. He pledged to revisit Chitral soon, accompanied by the Minister and Secretary for Communications, to review progress on ongoing projects.
Turning to national security, Shehbaz Sharif proudly stated that Pakistan had emerged victorious in the Pakistan India recent war, crediting the courage and professionalism of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Babar. “Our armed forces have once again proven that no challenge is too great when it comes to defending our homeland,” he said.
He went on to praise Donald Trump for mediating between Pakistan and India during the tense standoff, saying his timely intervention prevented further escalation and saved millions of lives.
Concluding his address, the Prime Minister emphasized unity and collective responsibility: “Political differences aside, we must all come together for Pakistan’s prosperity, stability, and the eradication of terrorism. Our youth and our resources are our greatest strengths.”
