Pakistan has successfully eliminated notorious Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) commander Hafiz Gul Bahadur along with several key members of his leadership council in precision airstrikes across the Afghan border.

The overnight operation took place between October 17 and 18 in the Argun area of Khost, Afghanistan — a known hideout for the Gul Bahadur faction.

According to credible intelligence sources, the airstrikes targeted Kharji (TTP splinter) camps operating near the border regions adjacent to North and South Waziristan. The coordinated strikes were launched after confirmed reports revealed that militants under Hafiz Gul Bahadur were planning multiple attacks inside Pakistan. Security officials said these plots were intercepted and neutralized before they could be executed.

“Based on accurate intelligence, the leadership and core members of the Gul Bahadur Group were neutralized,” a senior security official confirmed. An estimated 60 to 70 militants, including top commanders, were killed in the operation. Sources further disclosed that Hafiz Gul Bahadur was buried secretly the same night, underlining the high sensitivity and impact of the mission.

The news of Hafiz Gul Bahadur killed in these precise strikes marks a decisive blow to the TTP’s operational strength. Bahadur, a long-standing militant figure, had been responsible for orchestrating numerous terrorist attacks across Pakistan’s tribal regions. His group played a central role in conducting cross-border assaults from Afghan sanctuaries, posing a consistent threat to regional stability.

Security experts have hailed the operation as one of Pakistan’s most significant counter-terrorism successes in recent years, demonstrating Islamabad’s resolve to eliminate all threats to its sovereignty. They believe the death of Hafiz Gul Bahadur will severely weaken the TTP’s structure and disrupt its network of alliances within Afghanistan.
