The Saudi Riyal to Pakistani Rupee exchange rate saw a slight dip in the open market on Friday, reflecting a change that could affect remittance receivers and traders alike.

According to the latest update, the buying rate of the Saudi Riyal stood at Rs75.3, while the selling rate hovered around Rs76. This fluctuation in the Saudi Riyal to Pakistani Rupee rate holds notable importance for millions of overseas Pakistanis, particularly those living and working in Saudi Arabia — the country that sends the highest remittances to Pakistan every year.

For many families back home, a strong Riyal means better purchasing power and financial stability. However, with the current dip, recipients might feel a slight pinch in their remittance values.

To put things into perspective, if you exchange 500 Saudi Riyals at the current rate of Rs75.3, you’ll receive Rs37,650 in return. The rate, however, may vary slightly depending on the exchange company or bank.

Currency exchange services are widely available across Pakistan, and citizens can easily convert their Riyals into rupees through registered money changers or commercial banks.

In a related development, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced a Rs3.5 billion targeted support package for financial institutions to boost digital transactions under the Raast system. The initiative aims to promote cashless payments by encouraging merchants to adopt QR codes for transactions between September 1, 2025, and June 30, 2026.
