Pakistani actor Alizeh Shah has officially announced she is quitting showbiz, opening up about the deep scars the entertainment industry left on her life.
In a heartfelt Instagram story, the young star declared she is walking away from television and film for good — and this time, there’s no turning back.
Shah made it clear that her decision had nothing to do with seeking attention or work opportunities. “To those who believe I exposed people because I wanted projects… that thought disgusts me,” she wrote. Instead, her post reflected years of bottled-up pain from harassment, bullying, and unpaid dues that she claims pushed her into post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Speaking candidly, Alizeh revealed how the toxic environment of showbiz shattered her confidence and even made her despise herself. “Speaking out wasn’t about getting noticed. It was the only way I could free myself from the darkness,” she shared.

The actor, who once ruled prime-time dramas, said she no longer seeks roles or industry sympathy. “I don’t want your projects, your offers, or your fake support. Every day I pray I was never part of this degrading world — one that forced me to suffer for 12 hours straight on sets where I was treated like nothing.”
In her emotional post, Shah admitted the trauma continues to haunt her daily. “There are nights I cry until I can’t breathe. Some days I vomit because the memories make me sick. This pain is real. It lives in my body and my heart. All I ask is to be left alone.”
This isn’t the first time Shah has shed light on the industry’s darker side. Back in July, she detailed cases of harassment, delayed payments, and toxic work culture. She even revisited her infamous 2021 runway fall, which she claimed was deliberately orchestrated and later mocked by colleagues. The revelation led senior actor Juggan Kazim to publicly apologize, saying it’s “never too late to do the right thing.”
Her recent statement also aligns with growing concerns in Pakistan’s entertainment sector, where many actors have spoken out about delayed salaries and exploitation of juniors. But Shah’s decision to step away seems more final and personal.
