PCB announces Talent Hunt Program for schools across Pakistan

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially launched a Talent Hunt Program aimed at schools across the country.

More than 400 schools from 39 districts will participate in the initiative. In the first phase, trials will be conducted in all participating schools to select teams.

Over 60 PCB-certified coaches will oversee these trials. Following this, a 40-overs tournament featuring all selected school teams will commence in the third week of September.

The top 100 teams from the One-Day Tournament will advance to the Weekend Schools League, which will consist of two-day matches.

The winner school team from the One-Day Tournament will be given the opportunity to tour internationally. In addition, top performers from the school’s tournament will be eligible to participate in PCB’s U-15 and U-17 tournaments.

Director of Domestic Cricket, Abdullah Khurram Niazi, stated that the PCB will fully fund the Schools Talent Hunt Program.

He emphasized that this initiative aims to allow children to pursue both education and cricket simultaneously. He further added that PCB plans to revitalize and develop 168 school grounds across the country as part of the program.
