Hollywood’s famous actress and Oscar winner Angelina Jolie is preparing to say goodbye to her historic Los Angeles estate. According to People magazine, Angelina has decided to put her beautiful 1913-built home up for sale. She plans to move abroad soon.
The 50-year-old star has never fully settled in Los Angeles. Sources say her legal battles over child custody with ex-husband Brad Pitt forced her to stay in the city.
Angelina and Brad Pitt’s long court fight lasted nearly eight years. It ended with their final divorce agreement in December 2024. Together, they have six children: Maddox (24), Pax (21), Zahara (20), Shiloh (19), and twins Knox and Vivienne (17).

Reports reveal that Jolie intends to move abroad once the twins turn 18 next year. She is exploring several possible locations. Close friends say she wants to leave Los Angeles for a peaceful, private, and secure environment.
About the historic home
Angelina bought this stunning property in 2017 for $24.5 million. The 11,000-square-foot estate features six bedrooms and ten bathrooms.
The home holds a rich history. It was once owned by famous film director Cecil B. DeMille in 1916. Nearby, Charlie Chaplin once lived in a neighboring house, which DeMille later merged with his own property.
Sources add that Angelina is making some minor improvements to the home before putting it on the market to highlight its original charm.
Why leave Los Angeles?
In 2024, Jolie told The Hollywood Reporter that she stayed in Los Angeles only because the divorce made it necessary.

She said, “When you have a big family, you want privacy, peace, and safety. Los Angeles does not offer the warmth and kindness I have seen elsewhere.”
Jolie plans to spend most of her time in Cambodia after her children become adults. Cambodia is where she adopted her eldest son, Maddox, in 2002. She also wants to visit family members worldwide regularly.
In February, during the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, Jolie shared that Cambodia holds a special place in her heart and feels like her true home.
