Nepra Approves Rs1.89 Per Unit Electricity Price Cut Across Pakistan | August 2025

In a much-needed breather for households and businesses, Nepra has approved an electricity price cut Pakistan by Rs1.89 per unit.

The reduction comes under the quarterly tariff adjustment for April to June 2025 and awaits final notification from the federal government.

Once notified, the revised tariff will apply to all power distribution companies, including K-Electric. The adjustment will reflect in August electricity bills and remain effective for three months, from August to October 2025.

The move is expected to provide nationwide relief worth Rs55.8 billion, offering substantial ease amid rising inflation and power costs.

Last month, K-Electric consumers already benefited from a Rs4.03 per unit cut, while the rest of the country saw a 50-paisa per unit reduction under the monthly fuel cost adjustment. That relief was included in July bills.

In a related step, the federal government abolished the provincial electricity duty, effective from July 1, further helping to ease financial pressure on consumers.

This latest electricity price cut Pakistan is part of continued efforts to bring down the cost of living and support struggling citizens.
