West Indies Announce 15-Member Squad for ODI Series Against Pakistan

West Indies have unveiled their 15-player squad for the upcoming One-Day International (ODI) series against Pakistan, set to begin on August 8 at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad. The other two matches will take place on August 10 and 12.

This three-match series is an important opportunity for the Caribbean side to fine-tune their team ahead of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027. Cricket West Indies (CWI) stated in a press release that the matches will help the team continue building momentum after a string of successful series.

Shai Hope will continue as team captain. Star fast bowler Alzarri Joseph has been rested as part of a workload management plan, while Romario Shepherd makes his return to the squad after missing previous series against Ireland and England.

The squad includes the core group of players who contributed to West Indies’ recent home series wins against England and Bangladesh in late 2024, as well as their performances during the UK tour earlier this year. The team is eyeing a fourth consecutive home ODI series win.

Head Coach Daren Sammy shared his thoughts ahead of the series: "Pakistan present a different test and challenge as we continue our push for automatic qualification for the 2027 World Cup. The players are motivated to carry on the positive results of the last 18 months."

The team is focusing on building consistency and using every opportunity to prepare for the next major ICC event.
