Pakistan Thump Bangladesh by 74 Runs in Final T20I Thriller

Pakistan thumped Bangladesh by 74 runs in the third and final T20I at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka, on Thursday, ending the series on a high note with a commanding all-round performance.

Chasing a stiff target of 179, Bangladesh faltered from the start and were bowled out for just 104 runs in 16.5 overs — their third-lowest total against Pakistan in T20 internationals. Apart from a gritty 35 off 34 balls by all-rounder Mohammad Saifuddin, none of the Bangladeshi batters could withstand Pakistan’s fierce bowling attack. Only Mohammad Naim (10) joined him in reaching double digits.

Left-arm pacer Mohammad Salman delivered a match-winning spell, taking 3 for 19 in four overs. He was backed up by Faheem Ashraf and Mohammad Nawaz, who took two wickets each, while Ahmed Daniyal, Hussain Talat, and skipper Agha Salman claimed one each to dismantle Bangladesh’s lineup.

Earlier, Pakistan set a solid foundation with a fiery 82-run opening stand between Saim Ayub and Sahibzada Farhan. Ayub contributed a quick 21 off 15 balls before falling to Nasum Ahmed in the 9th over.

Farhan continued the charge, hammering 63 off 41 balls, including six fours and five sixes, to become the top-scorer of the innings. Hasan Nawaz then kept the momentum alive with a brisk 33 from 17 balls, smashing three sixes and a four.

Mohammad Nawaz added late fireworks with 27 off 16, helping Pakistan reach 178/7 in their allotted 20 overs. Skipper Agha Salman played a supporting role with an unbeaten 12 off 9.

For Bangladesh, Taskin Ahmed led the bowling with three wickets for 38 runs. Nasum Ahmed took two, while Shoriful Islam and Saifuddin claimed one each.
