The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced that the approval of the much-anticipated Mines and Minerals Bill in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly will only move forward after detailed consultation with the party’s founder, Imran Khan.

In a recent meeting of PTI’s political committee held to review the bill, Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur gave a comprehensive briefing on all key aspects of the legislation. The committee issued a clear statement, emphasizing that no step will be taken without Imran Khan’s approval and confidence.

According to the party, the bill will reflect Imran Khan’s agenda, manifesto, and the expectations of the public. The committee stressed that there was no rush in drafting or processing the bill, and all necessary deliberations would be completed before its passage.

Dismissing concerns over the bill’s intent, PTI clarified that no clause in the bill aims to transfer provincial rights or mineral resources to the federal government. Similarly, there is no mention of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) or any other federal body being granted control.

PTI’s political committee welcomed constructive feedback from all stakeholders and confirmed that consultations with other parliamentary parties will continue before the bill is tabled for final approval in the provincial assembly.
