As the countdown to the 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) begins, former champions Peshawar Zalmi have taken the lead in firing up the excitement with the release of a power-packed short film and their official team anthem.
The franchise, infamous for its extravagance and accessibility to fans, launched a visually stunning short film starring none other than Mahira Khan, a top Pakistani celebrity, with a high-voltage anthem sung by popular artists Mustafa Zahid and Aima Baig.
The music video is not only about popular melodies but also gives the fans an exciting look at the team's preparations. From Babar Azam's intense shadow practice to Saim Ayub's fan moments, the visuals create anticipation and pride in advance of the season opener.
To the celebration, Zalmi had previously dropped a regional anthem by Pashto music legend Raheem Shah, highlighting the franchise's strong sense of tie with its cultural heritage.
All this excitement took place at the recently constructed Arbab Niaz Stadium in Peshawar, where the team is eagerly anticipating the opportunity to host a home crowd.
Peshawar Zalmi also garnered attention with the unveiling of their new kit, which carries a profound message of empowerment. The jersey, created by the capable women of Haripur under the 'Dil Se Ba-Ikhtiar' initiative, represents resilience, talent, and pride, reflecting the work of women who have been trained through this empowering initiative.
The squad, led by captain Babar Azam, will kick off their PSL 10 journey with a thrilling match against long-time rivals Quetta Gladiators on April 12 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
